Overview

Jazer supports clients in protecting and maximising the value of their innovations by combining his chemical engineering expertise with practical intellectual property experience. With a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, specialising in the Sustainable Engineering Technology track from Mapúa University, he is experienced in filing new patent applications, preparing and submitting responses to office actions, providing technical analyses and arguments in appeals and infringement cases, conducting prior art and freedom-to-operate searches, and providing patentability advice to clients.

Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson, he worked as a Patent Specialist at a general service law firm, where he handled patent applications across diverse industries from biotechnology to food science to gaming. His undergraduate thesis focused on the numerical simulation of turbulent natural convection in two-dimensional cavities.

As part of his undergraduate requirements, he assisted in a plant design for a proposed desalination facility. He was also involved in further research involving numerical simulation in liquid pools, as well as the thermodynamic analysis of a sustainable copper manufacturing facility in the Philippines.

During his undergraduate studies, Jazer assisted clients in filing wastewater discharge permit applications and conducted sampling and inspections throughout the region with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau CALABARZON Region.

Jazer is fluent in English and Filipino language.
